Casual Dining & Drinks
Izakayas are Japanese pubs serving drinks alongside small, shareable food plates. Mastering the seating fees and drink order rules will make your pub night seamless.
• Drink Ordering
It is standard etiquette to order a beverage immediately when you are seated. Starting with draft beer (Nama biiru) is the traditional first move before diving into sake or highballs.
• Otoshi Appetizers
Your server will bring out a tiny side dish (appetizer) shortly after seating you. This serves as the table/cover charge and is included on the final bill.
