🍣Conveyor Belt Sushi (Kaitenzushi)

Optimized quick mobile reference for lane mechanics, plate fees, and etiquette.

How It Works

The System

Sushi plates circulate on a continuous track. You can grab any plate directly off the lane, or order fresh items using a multilingual seat-side tablet.

The Check

Your final bill is calculated by counting the total number, color, and pattern of the empty plates stacked at your table.

Step-by-Step Seat Workflow

Sit down and locate your station tools: powdered green tea, a hot water tap, pickled ginger, chopsticks, and soy sauce dishes.

Standard Plate Color Guide

Standard industry pricing structures generally follow this color tier:

Plate Color / DesignEstimated PriceTypical Topping
Plain Solid Color (White/Yellow)¥115 – ¥150Salmon, Tuna Salad, Egg Tamago
Patterned / Silver¥180 – ¥280Fatty Salmon, Seared Pork, Shrimp
Gold / Black / Sparkle¥350 – ¥500+Otoro (Premium Tuna), Sea Urchin, Eel

Mandatory Rules

Never put a plate back onto the moving belt once your hand has touched it.

Never use your fingers to grab food off the belt; always take the entire plate using your hands, then use chopsticks to transfer the sushi.

Do not pass food directly from your chopsticks to someone else's chopsticks (this mirrors a funeral ritual). Pass the entire plate instead.

Stack your finished plates neatly by color group at the edge of your table. Do not hide plates.
